Why do Rally cars have lights?
It’s mostly because of low overhangs (less to drag on terrain) and the need for a high center of gravity (CoG). Unlike track cars, you want a higher CoG to pitch the car around on the looser surface. While rally cars do use aerodynamic devices it’s very limited and their effect is minimal compared to a track car.
