Is SunRace any good?
The SunRace MX80 cassette is a good way to eek out some extra gear range and bigger granny cog for easier climbing. It’s a tad pricier than Shimano XT and SRAM GX 11 speed alternatives at full retail but they don’t offer the large 50t sprocket that the SunRace cassette does.
Is SunRace compatible with Campagnolo?
Most manufacturers’ cassettes (and freehub body splines) are compatible with Shimano (SRAM, Sun Race etc.), while Campagnolo cassettes use different freehub splines – that is explained on. Also, SRAM XD cassettes (and freehub body splines) differ from all the rest.
Are all Shimano 8-speed cassettes the same?
In some cases, it is possible to run a cassette from a different brand than the rest of your drivetrain. SRAM and Shimano cassettes, on either road or mountain bike, are interchangeable with each other as the spacing is the same between the sprockets.
Can I use any 8-speed cassette?
Condensed Answer: Shimano and SRAM 10-speed cassettes can be installed on 8-speed hubs because 8,9 and 10-speed cassettes have similar widths. However, a Campagnolo 10-speed cassette won’t fit on an original 8-speed hub due to incompatible spline designs.
Do SunRace derailleurs work with Shimano shifters?
Knowing nothing about pull ratios or anything useful, I asked in the Local Bike Shop and they said they had set up SunRace derailleurs with Shimano shifters though never the other way round. They sold me a Shimano Deore RD-M5100-SGS derailleur to try with my SunRace shifter, and it turns out it works just fine.
Are Campagnolo and Shimano cassettes compatible?
Yes. Campagnolo wheels are compatible with both Shimano and SRAM components. In order to use Campagnolo wheels with any drivetrain on the market, Campagnolo produces two kinds of freewheel bodies: one specific for Campagnolo drivetrains (from 9 to 11 speeds) and one for non-Campagnolo drivetrains (from 9 to 11 speeds).
Are all 11 speed cassettes interchangeable?
When SRAM entered the road groupset market in 2006, it decided to adopt Shimano’s specifications for its chains and cassettes. As a result, the chains and cassettes from the two brands have always been completely interchangeable for any given type of transmission (e.g. 11-speed).
